With easy access to both the garden and outdoor seating areas through the large Oak French doors on both elevations, this design creates a wonderful sense of indoor-outdoor living. In the summer months, our clients enjoy hosting friends and family with the French doors open blurring the boundaries between the inside and out. The Oak Extension has had a huge impact on the National Garden Scheme events, as well as gatherings hosted by our clients; the open-plan layout has linked the existing kitchen, new living room extension, outdoor seating areas and garden seamlessly, providing a smooth and enjoyable experience for visitors and guests. To avoid footfall directly through the project after tending to the garden, our clients also opted for an Oak framed boot room, allowing side access to the downstairs bathroom and utility, the perfect place to kick off muddy boots!
During the autumn and winter months, the garden can still be enjoyed, from the warmth of inside. The Oak gable end alongside floor to ceiling glazing creates an everlasting connection between the home and garden allowing the seasonal changes of the surrounding gardens to be enjoyed all year round.
